Recently, we reported that Idea Cellular is offering a first recharge tariff plan of Rs. 555 in some circles, and now, Vodafone India, which is in the process of merging with Idea Cellular also introduced the same FRC 555 tariff plan for its subscribers across the country.
Vodafone's FRC555 plan is valid for all handsets and users- 2G/3G/4G. And it's valid only for new customers who're looking to join Vodafone network via Mobile Number Portability (MNP) or as a proper new customer.
This FRC 555 plan from Vodafone gives 84GB data, which dubs to 1GB data per day for 84 days. Besides the data benefit, it offers unlimited voice calls including national roaming calls and 100 SMS per day. The voice calling and SMS benefits are valid for 84 days too.
Having said that, Vodafone will be limiting the voice calls to 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week. Do make a note that the limit includes national roaming calls too. Post the exhaustion; voice calls will be charged at one paise/second.
Post SMS exhaustion, each local SMS will be charged at Rs. 1, and STD SMS will cost Rs. 1.5. And after the daily 1GB data, customers will be charged at 50 paise/MB.
Another thing to note is that the new FRC 555 plan is valid only in Karnataka circle as of now, and there's no news on when this plan will be made available in other circles.
As said earlier, this plan is similar to Idea Cellular's FRC 555 plan, which the operator introduced last week. Idea's plan gives 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and a free subscription to Idea's Digital suite apps. Idea's FRC 555 plan is also valid for 84 days. Idea's plan is valid only in only a few circles- Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP West
