Vodafone Follows the Footsteps of Airtel & Idea Cellular; Offering Free Outgoing Roaming Calls With its Unlimited Combo Plans

When it comes to providing new and attractive tariff plans to the customers, Vodafone stands last in the list, when we consider the incumbent operator’s list. Thankfully, Vodafone has some unlimited combo plans such as Rs. 349 (price varies with the circle), and the operator has now revised the plan to match the benefits offered by rival telecom operators.

Vodafone’s Rs. 349 plan usually offer unlimited voice calls (local and STD), 1GB 3G/4G data per day for 28 days. However, Vodafone has now modified the plan to offer unlimited voice calls including both incoming and roaming outgoing calls. Sadly, the voice calls are limited to just 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week.

This plan is valid for 28 days from the date of recharge, and it even offers free Vodafone Play subscription for the same period. Customers can avail the Vodafone Play free subscription by sending an SMS as PLAY to 199.

Do make a note that the price of the plan differs from circle to circle. The plan might go all the way up to Rs. 357 in some circle, and it’s even available in some circles at Rs. 347. For the correct price, we suggest you download the Vodafone application and check for the available offers on your number.

Recently, Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular also made changes to their unlimited combo plans. Airtel’s and Idea Cellular’s unlimited combo plans now offer unlimited roaming outgoing calls. All the operators are making this move to counter Reliance Jio which is offering voice calls for free since its inception.

Furthermore, Vodafone is trying its best to get the RCom subscribers on board in several circles. Recently, Vodafone announced special plans for MNP customers in Bengal. A Rs. 494 tariff plan and a Rs. 299 tariff plan is introduced by the operator. The Rs. 494 plan for Bengal MNP users gives 1GB data per day and unlimited voice calls for 84 days. Sadly, Vodafone is not offering any SMS benefits with any of its plans.

At least now we must support : > Airtel (all circles) cheap packs after jio, > jio (only if it provides good indoor and outdoor coverage), > BSNL and Aircel (Tamilnadu and Chennai till its existance) to make the lootafone chuck out of the country. Lootafone is bribing BSNL to stay behind all other operators. Lootafone charges Rs.149 per month as rental for international roaming. It is sucking more than airtel. Idea also charges high outgoing call charges during international roaming and its 2G coverage sucks in Tamilnadu and Chennai. Tamilnadu always misses ;-( the cheapest tariff mobile operator –… Read more »

I get solid 256 kbps speed on idea 2G which is enough for most basic browsing. Must say that in MP Idea 2G is fastest among all operators.

Vodafone does not allow latching on to 4G network without a data pack. Facing the same issue on my Vodafone kolkata sim

This automatic swtiching to a lower G seems to by symptomatic of Vodafone. A few others have brought to the notice of Vodafone that even though a higher G signal is available the phone is latching onto the lower G signal. This issue was faced before 4G roll out.

It seems your issue is even worse, that if you do not have an active data pack, even on manual mode the network will not latch onto the 4G network.

Sri Gopal ! You are correct ! What was more problematic & suspense was when I transferred my May 2017 Dolphin ported SIM to Vodafone from 2G Feature Phone to 4G LTE Handset on 12/10/2017 ! Vodafone gave me free 1 GB 4G Data via App as gift for 10 days on 4G SIM switchover to 4G Handset. Despite this I got only H+ on Handset when using Data ! So I began to suspect my handset ! When I went to Vrindavan on 19/10 to 22/10 their also 3G H+ only ! And 3G was constantly Fluctuating with 0… Read more »

Same was the case with many other operators too. I remember my tata never used to latch to 3G unless I do a 3G recharge.
Anyways why would you want to latch on 4G when you don’t have data pack as you won’t be receiving calls on 4G. Maybe that is why vodafone has restricted you to 3G/2G.

No use of avoid 4G network unless they update their SIM with 4G only mode option like jio.
