Popular instant messaging service, WhatsApp might soon extend its support for Apple iPad users as references of WhatsApp for iPad are spotted on latest WhatsApp desktop app. WABetaInfo, the reliable source for all the WhatsApp news out there has stated on Twitter that WhatsApp Desktop 0.2.6968 app references for an iPad application as you can see in the image.

However, WABetaInfo did not reveal whether the company is planning for a standalone application or will it be just a client application like the WhatsApp Web. WhatsApp will either release an application for Apple iPad or the company will release a client application such as WhatsApp Web for Windows and MacBook users.

WhatsApp might release a standalone application for Apple iPad cellular variants in the near future, or the company will release a client application to access WhatsApp. In the second option, it will work similar to the Windows and macOS desktop version. Users have to keep their mobile phone connected all the time to the if the second option happens.

WhatsApp was rumoured to launch a WhatsApp for iPad in recent times, and this references in the latest desktop version have partially confirmed the launch is imminent.
