Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 will be launching alongside the Redmi Note 8 Pro in China on August 29. Redmi has now revealed fresh renders of the Note 8 smartphone ahead of the launch revealing key details. Similar to the Redmi Note 8 Pro, the standard Redmi Note 8 will also feature quad rear cameras, but the primary sensor on this model would be a 48MP unit. Also, the phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset which we already got to see on the Mi A3 smartphone. Going by these features, we can expect the Redmi Note 8 to come at a lower price than the Note 8 Pro, and at the same time, it might be priced even lower than the Mi A3. Every iteration of the Redmi Note smartphone started at Rs 9,999 and it will be a massive challenge for the brand to keep the same pricing this year.

Redmi Note 8 Key Specifications Confirmed by Xiaomi

When MediaTek confirmed that Xiaomi would be using the Helio G90T chipset on the Redmi Note 8 Pro, everyone expected that the Redmi Note 8 might arrive with the less powerful Helio G90 SoC. However, that isn't the case as Qualcomm and Xiaomi both confirmed the Redmi Note 8 would be powered by the new Snapdragon 665 chipset. To recall, the predecessors of Redmi Note 8- the Note 7 and the Note 7S both arrived with Snapdragon 660 chipset on board, so no surprises on the processor aspect.

Moving onto the cameras, Redmi officially confirmed the Note 8 would have quad rear camera setup similar to the Note 8 Pro, albeit for one major change. The Note 8 Pro will be the world's first smartphone to ship with a 64MP quad-camera setup, whereas the Note 8 will feature a 48MP quad-camera setup on the back. We're expecting Xiaomi to use the Sony IMX586 sensor on the Redmi Note 8. Instead, the company might make use of the Samsung GM2 sensor, which was unveiled alongside the Samsung GW1 64MP sensor earlier this year. That being said, this news is yet to be confirmed by Xiaomi. However, we believe that to cut the costs, Xiaomi will go with the next-generation 48MP sensor from Samsung.

The other three sensors on both Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro would be- ultra-wide-angle lens, macro lens and depth sensor for adding bokeh effect to the images.

Redmi Note 8 Pro: Confirmed Specifications and Features

The China launch of Redmi Note 8 series is just a few days away and the company is slowly revealing each and every feature. The Redmi Note 8 Pro will be the world's first smartphone to ship with the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset and it will also feature a 64MP quad rear camera setup. Notably, Realme also confirmed that its upcoming smartphone- Realme XT would also ship with a 64MP quad-camera setup on the back.

Other confirmed features of the Redmi Note 8 Pro include gradient design, Dot Notch display, USB Type-C port, 4500mAh battery and 18W fast charging support. It will be really interesting to see how Xiaomi prices the Redmi Note 8 series this time around.
