Moto G7 Launch Date Out: Everything We Know So Far

For the Moto G6 series, Motorola had spread the launch of the phones the entire year. We expect the same to happen to the G7 series as well. This may mean that Motorola could be launching just the Moto G7 on February 7 and other phones under the series could go official later this year. A report from Brazil says the company will first launch the Moto G7 Power and standard Moto G7 smartphones, followed by the launch of Moto G7 Plus and Moto G7 Play sometime in April. To recall, the Moto G6 series was also first unveiled in Brazil back in April 2018. Motorola launched three Moto G6 devices- Moto G6, G6 Plus and the Moto G6 Play.

A lot has been talked about the Motorola G7 series. As noted, rumours have suggested that Motorola could be launching four phones under the Moto G7 series this year. The phones include -- Moto G7, Moto G7 Play, Moto G7 Power and Moto G7 Plus. Going by the names of the phones, the Moto G7 Plus will be the most expensive of all the four phones followed by the Moto G7, Moto G7 Power and lastly the Moto G7 Play.

Moto G7 Already Spotted on Geekbench

Last week, the Moto G7 was spotted on Geekbench benchmarking site where the listing revealed almost all the key specs of that the smartphone will bear. The Geekbench listing goes against the previous rumours which suggested that the Moto G7 will be powered by Snapdragon 660 chipset which also powers phones like Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Vivo V11 Pro, among others.

The Geekbench listing had revealed that the Moto G7 would come with Snapdragon 625 chipset instead of Snapdragon 660 SoC. The benchmark listing further revealed the performance score of the Moto G7 in single and multi-core. According to Geekbench, in the single-core test, the Moto G7 managed to score 1,260 while in multi-core the G7 scores 4,759. Overall the numbers reveal that Moto G7 will be as powerful phones, we are not sure if it will be as powerful as its market competitors.

The benchmark listing further reveals that the Moto G7 will come with 3GB of RAM and run on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. Previous rumours had revealed a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model of the Moto G7.
