Xiaomi Rolls Out MIUI 11 Update to 27 Devices Within 47 Days

The 27 smartphones which received the MIUI 11 stable update in India are Poco F1, Redmi K20, Redmi 7, Redmi Y3, Redmi Note 7S, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6A, Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi Y2, Redmi 4, Mi Mix, Mi Max, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 7A, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A and the Redmi Note 8. As you can clearly see, Xiaomi even updated the 2017 phones like Redmi Note 4 and Mi Max to MIUI 11.

The Redmi K20 became the first smartphone in India to get the MIUI 11 update on October 22, just a week after the official announcement. The Redmi Note 8 is the latest smartphone in the country to start getting the much-awaited update. Xiaomi will end the year on a high note by pushing the update to its current mid-range champion- Redmi Note 8 Pro.

MIUI 11 for Several Phones is Based on Android 9 Pie Itself

Xiaomi has been criticised in the past for not rolling out timely software updates. However, the brand always stayed silent and even stayed away from responding to queries asked by its flagship smartphone owners. The Chinese company pushed major MIUI iterative update to several smartphones, but most of them will be stuck on older Android versions.

For example, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 which also received the MIUI 11 update is still on Android 7.1 Nougat itself. Announced in 2017, the Note 4 arrived with Android Marshmallow-based MIUI and it later received Android Nougat update. Similar is the case with several Xiaomi phones launched in 2018. The Redmi Note 7 Pro which arrived with Android 9 Pie is still on the same Android version, but it may receive Android 10 update in the coming weeks. On the whole, Xiaomi keeps its promise of delivering iterative MIUI updates, but the company will provide only one major iterative Android update.
