Vivo Releases Vivo Y12 With Triple Rear Camera Setup and Teardrop Notch for Rs 12,490

The sub-brand of BBK electronics and the precursor to OnePlus phones, Vivo today announced the launch of a new smartphone. The new launch furthers the Y series of smartphone and is the Vivo Y12. The Vivo Y12 debuts in the mid-range price segment and comes with AI Triple Rear camera and powerful 5000mAh battery. Also, the phone features a waterdrop notch like the other smartphones in the same segment. Along with this, the Vivo Y12 delivers performance based on an octa-core processor. This mid-range phone would also come with Vivo’s own touch on the software. The Vivo Y12 boots Funtouch OS 9, a customized operating system based on Android 9.0. Here are all the details that you need to know about the newly launched mid-ranger from Vivo.

Design and Display

The Vivo Y12 comes with a gradient display on the rear side with a square shaped fingerprint sensor on the middle. The rear side also comes with triple rear camera setup and the Vivo branding on the lower middle side. On the front side, the device sports a curved teardrop notch which houses the front camera and above it the Vivo Y12 has the earpiece. As for the display, the Vivo Y12 sports an LCD display of 6.35-inch display which sports an HD+ resolution of 720 × 1544 pixels.

Performance and Battery

The Vivo Y12 packs the Helio P22 processor which is the MediaTek 6762. This processor clocks speeds of up to 2.0GHz and has been built on a 12nm design. This setup is paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage. The phone also comes with a massive 5000mAh battery supporting intelligent power saving technology. On the software front, the Vivo Y12 will boot the Funtouch OS 9 based on Android 9 Pie.  The device also comes with Ultra Game Mode, which will allow players to play e-sports like a pro by using Competition Mode, which allocates system resources to prioritize your game’s performance. And when it comes to speed, Dual-Turbo is the lightning-fast feature which reduces frame drop. The device also supports Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0, GPS, OTG, and FM as well for connectivity. Vivo Y12 also comes with an accelerometer sensor, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, E-compass and Gyroscope as well.

Camera and Imaging

The Vivo Y12 sports a triple rear camera setup comprising of a 13MP primary sensor paired with an 8MP super-wide sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The triple rear camera setup is also paired with an LED flash. The camera app also offers support for phase detection autofocus along with Palm Capture, Voice Control, Time-Lapse, Slow, Live Photos, HDR, Portrait Mode, Panorama, Portrait Bokeh (single front camera), Watermark, AI Face Beauty, Camera Filter, Super Wide-Angle Camera.

Pricing

Like we mentioned above, the Vivo Y12 will be available across Vivo offline stores with a price tag of Rs 12,490. The device will be available in two colour variants of Aqua Blue and Burgundy R
