Nubia Z17S and Z17miniS Smartphones Announced: Features Gorgeous Design and Bezel-Less Display

Nubia has added two new smartphones to its portfolio- the Nubia Z17S and Z17miniS. Both the smartphones are launched at an event in China and will be up for sale in the country in coming days. Nubia was rumoured to launch the Z17S earlier, but the Z17miniS came as a surprise.

Nubia Z17S

The Nubia Z17S is the company's first four camera smartphone and also the first 17:9 aspect ratio display smartphone. Nubia has added a 5.73-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2040 pixels that further translates to a pixel density of 403 PPI. The display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 technology. Also, the Z17S has a chin which houses the home button along with a fingerprint scanner.

The smartphone is powered by the flagship chipset, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, mated with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. The phone offers internal storage up to 128GB. Aforesaid, the Nubia Z17S is the company's first smartphone to feature four cameras.

The rear camera setup has a 12MP primary sensor and a 23MP secondary telephoto lens that captures 2X zoomed images. It also offers a Portrait mode, which has become a common affair in smartphones releasing these days. Frontal, there are two 5MP sensors.

The phone has all the connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C port. This entire package is backed by a 3100mAh battery, and the device runs Android Nougat.

Another addition to the Nubia Z17 lineup is the Nubia Z17miniS. This smartphone is aimed at mid-range market, and the highlight is the design of the smartphone. The Z17miniS offers a 5.2-inch Full HD display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology. That said, it has the standard 16:9 aspect ratio display.

Internally, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC, mated with 6GB of RAM. Like its sibling, the Z17miniS also offers four cameras- two at the front and two at the back. There are two 13MP Sony sensors at the back, along with a 16MP primary sensor at the front and a 5MP secondary sensor.

This device also runs Android Nougat and has a 3200mAh battery.

Pricing and Availability

The Nubia Z17miniS comes in a single variant with 6GB of RAM, which is priced at 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 19,600). This device will be made available in Black Gold, Deep Blue, and Aegean Blue colour options.

Being a flagship smartphone, the Z17S is priced on the steeper side. The 6GB+64GB storage model is priced at 2999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 29,400), and the 8GB+128GB model costs 3999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 39,300). The device will come in Black Gold and Blue colours.
