Gionee is back again with a new smartphone. Once a key player in the smartphone industry, Gionee has launched a new device called the Gionee F205 Pro in India on Tuesday. Gionee suffered bankruptcy and now with the new launch looks like the smartphone manufacturing company may be coming back to the country. The Chinese smartphone company has launched the Gionee F205 Pro for an affordable price of Rs 6,990 and has informed that the interested buyers will be able to purchase the smartphone via Flipkart. Notably, Gionee is running various television commercials regarding its smartphones availability on Flipkart, so maybe it's trying to get back into the game. Do make a note that the Gionee F205 Pro is an upgraded version of the Gionee F205 that was launched last year.




The Gionee F205 Pro is selling during the Flipkart Mobiles Bonanza sale which started on Tuesday, February 19 and will end on February 23. During the sale, Flipkart is selling the Gionee F205 Pro for a discounted price of Rs 5,890. The Gionee F205 Pro is also available under the 10% instant discount on Axis Bank credit and debit cards, which means, the customers will be able to buy the phone at a much lower price. In India, the Gionee F205 Pro is available in three colours -- Black, Blue, and Champagne. Overall, the new Gionee F205 Pro looks like an upgraded version to the previously launched Gionee F205.

Gionee F205 Pro: Specifications and Features

The Gionee F205 Pro comes packed with a 5.45-inch HD+ (720x1440 pixels) display coupled with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone also includes a 2.5D curved glass for protecting the display from scratches and other external damages. The Gionee F205 Pro runs Android 8.1 Oreo software and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6739WW SoC.

The Gionee F205 Pro comes in only one variant with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card to up to 256GB. The Gionee F205 Pro includes a single camera on both front and back. On the rear panel, the Gionee F205 Pro comes packed with a 13MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture, while on the front it consists of a 5MP front shooter with an f/2.2 aperture.

The back camera as Gionee reveals includes features like Portrait Mode, beautification, HDR, scene detection, among others. There’s also an LED flash. The Gionee F205 Pro comes packed with features like 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm headphone jack, Micro-USB port, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. The Gionee F205 Pro also includes a fingerprint sensor which below the camera set up on the rear panel. The phone also includes a Face Unlock support and is backed by a 3000mAh battery.

Gionee F205 Pro: Competitors in India

For the asking price, the Gionee F205 Pro takes on the Xiaomi Redmi 6A which is one of the best-selling smartphones of 2018. The Redmi 6A sports a 5.45-inch HD+ display and offers Dual 4G functionality, which is not the case with the Gionee F205 Pro. The Redmi 6A also has a 3000mAh battery and runs MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
