Xiaomi Redmi 6A Base Variant Price in India Reduced to Rs 5,999, New Price Effective from December 13

Xiaomi had recently increased the price of the Redmi 6A in India after the rupee value depreciated against the dollar. Xiaomi has increased the price of Redmi 6A by up to Rs 600, but now the company has reduced the price of the phone back to the launch price. Xiaomi on Monday announced that the price reduction for the 2GB RAM variant of the Redmi 6A in India. After the price cut, the Xiaomi Redmi 6A 2GB RAM + 16GB storage model will be available for Rs 5,999, while the 2GB RAM + 32GB storage model of the phone will be selling for Rs 6,999. Commenting on the price cut of Redmi 6A Xiaomi says, “This festive season has been very special for us with new records broken and new accomplishments achieved. Millions of Mi Fans and customers celebrated with us by choosing our products, and gaining immense joy and benefits from our range of innovative offerings at truly honest pricing.”


Xiaomi Redmi 6A Price in India Reduced

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 6A 2GB RAM/16GB model for Rs 5,999 in India and 2GB RAM/32GB for Rs 6,999. But soon after the rupee value depreciated against dollar Xiaomi increased the price of the Redmi 6A by Rs 600 which hike the price of the 2GB RAM/16GB model of the phone to Rs 6,599. Xiaomi also increased the price of the Redmi 6A 2GB RAM + 32GB storage model by Rs 500, which increases the price of the phone to Rs 7,499. The launch price of this model was Rs 6,999.

Announcing the price drop of the Redmi 6A Xiaomi says, “Extending our celebrations further post festive season while ending the year on an exciting note, we are thrilled to announce that our Redmi 6A will witness a price drop, going back to the original price. Redmi 6A will now be available at its initial price of Rs 5,999 for 2GB+16GB variant and Rs 6,999 for 2GB+32GB variant. The new prices are effective from December 13, 12 Noon onwards across all platforms.”

The company further added, “We are positive that this will help bring more happiness to our Mi Fans across India, and we hope our Mi Fans and customers can make the most of these innovative products offered at even more incredible prices.”

Xiaomi Redmi 6A: Specifications and Features

The Redmi 6A comes packed with decent specifications for a smartphone priced at Rs 5,999. It rocks a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, and it comes powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 chipset. The phone comes paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. It comes in two variants- 2GB/16GB and 2GB/32GB. Other features of the Redmi 6A include — 13MP main camera, 5MP selfie camera, 3000mAh battery Android Oreo-based on MIUI UI, among other things.

New price not reflected yet on Amazon


Did sale of 6A dropped.. I didn’t see much demand in my area, rather few people preferred Realme C1 and Realme 2 though both are costly if compared.

Battery life on both is better than Redmi 6A so better sales.

Realme has lost after tremendous initial response for Realme 1. Camera needs to improve a lot and software needs to be polished a lot as compared to Realme 2 Pro. I hope there will be custom roms available by the end of March for Realme 2 Pro.
