Huawei and its sub-brand Honor has got back in the smartphone business last year as both the brands launched some of the very popular smartphones of the year. 2019 has also started off pretty well for Huawei and Honor. Huawei recently launched the Y9 (2018) while Honor launched the Honor 10 Lite in India. Interestingly with both the smartphones the respective companies are aiming to take on the likes of some of the very popular budget segment smartphones like Redmi Note 6 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, Realme 2 Pro, among others.

The Honor 10 Lite has been launched at the same price as the Redmi Note 6 Pro, at Rs 13,999. The Huawei Y9 (2019), on the other hand, is now available for Rs 15,990. Let’s take a quick look at what both of these smartphones offer to the consumers and which one is a better buy for around Rs 15,000.
Honor 10 Lite vs Huawei Y9 (2019): Display
The Huawei Y9 (2019) comes with a bigger screen than the Honor 10 Lite. The Huawei Y9 (2019) comes packed with a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with screen resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and aspect ratio of 19.5:9. In comparison, the Honor 10 Lite includes a 6.21-inch LCD display with Full HD+ resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. Also, both the smartphones feature a glass back which make them look premium in the mid-range segment.
Honor 10 Lite vs Huawei Y9 (2019): Hardware
The Honor 10 Lite is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Kirin 710 chipset paired with up to 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The base model comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage while the top-end model of the phone includes 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Huawei Y9 (2019) is also powered by the same 2.2GHz octa-core Kirin 710 chipset. The Honor 10 Lite like some previously launched Honor phones also comes with GPU Turbo support. The phone comes in one variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage which is further expandable via micro SD card. The Honor 10 Lite is backed by a 3400mAh battery while the Huawei Y9 2019 is backed by a 4000mAh battery.
