New PoP at Aruba’s IT4 Data Centre

Tecnopolo Tiburtino is a technology district where more than 150 companies operate, ranging from aerospace to ICT, in an environment designed to support the growth and development of new companies and start-ups.

According to Sparkle, the data centre campus covers an area of 74,000 square meters and, when fully operational, will house five independent data centres for a total of 30 MW of IT power. The first of these data centres (DC-A) is already ANSI/TIA Rating 4 certified. Designed to the highest resilience and efficiency standards, it uses renewable energy and advanced cooling systems.

Integration with BlueMed Submarine Cable System

The new PoP is integrated with BlueMed, Sparkle’s submarine cable system. BlueMed, part of the Blue and Raman Submarine Cable Systems project, enhances connectivity across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, with landings in Rome, Genoa, Palermo, and Golfo Aranci.

The project, in collaboration with Google and other operators, extends as far as India and is a key initiative under the IMEC (India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor) from the G20 summit in 2023.
