Transforming Indian Offline Retail and Customer Engagement Using AI

CtrlS Datacenters has announced plans to set up a new datacenter park on a 40-acre land parcel at the upcoming Chandanvelly Industrial Park near Hyderabad. This expansion will enhance the company’s capacity and capabilities in the region. With a potential capacity of over 600 MW IT load when fully developed, the new campus will house multiple AI-ready, interconnected datacenter buildings, designed for hyperscale and enterprise requirements, CtrlS said on Monday, January 20, 2025.

Impact on Hyderabad’s IT Load
According to the company, the new park will significantly boost Hyderabad’s existing IT load capacity of an estimated 52 MW. This expansion aligns with the broader growth of India’s datacenter sector, which is predicted to exceed 1,300 MW by the end of 2024 and reach 1,800 MW by 2026, driven by increasing demand for cloud services, AI technologies, and data localisation requirements, the company said, citing various analyst reports.
Cooling and Power Systems
“The CtrlS Chandanvelly Datacenter Park will feature multiple high density, ultra-high density along with AI-ready, interconnected datacenter buildings with a potential capacity of over 600 MW IT load when fully developed,” CtrlS said, noting that “the buildings will be engineered for ultra-high density rack configurations supporting up to 135 KW per rack and immersion cooling up to 300 KW per rack and equipped with state-of-the-art cooling technologies.”
The Chairman of CtrlS Datacenters Limited said, “Telangana is rapidly emerging as an economic powerhouse in India, making it strategic for CtrlS Datacenters’ expansion. Our new datacenter park will catalyse the growth of data-driven and technology businesses in the region.”
Phase One
In its first phase, the facility has already secured 250 MW of power capacity. The park will include a dedicated Gas Insulated Substation (GIS), expandable to 900 MW, to guarantee redundant power supply and support uninterrupted operations. “The facility will also house mission-critical operation centers, administrative offices, and collaboration spaces for customers,” the company added.
