Sateliot Advances Global Coverage with Latest Satellite Deployment
Spain-based satellite company Sateliot has successfully launched four new satellites as part of its 5G NB-IoT NTN constellation, advancing the company's goal of providing global IoT connectivity. The launch, which was part of the SpaceX Transporter-11 mission, took place on August 16, 2024, from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, Sateliot said in a statement on Friday.

Sateliot Satellite Launches

This expansion marks a significant step in Sateliot's mission to provide global IoT connectivity, extending mobile telecom operators' coverage to 100 percent of the planet. A special event in Barcelona, attended by key stakeholders and supported by ESA, GSMA, and the Spanish government, celebrated this achievement, Sateliot said.

"This launch propels us into a new phase of development," said Jaume Sanpera, CEO and co-founder of Sateliot. "Not only will we begin generating revenue, but we will also position Spain as a global leader in IoT connectivity."

Expanding the Constellation and Funding

Sateliot plans to deploy additional satellites by 2025 and expand its constellation to over 100 satellites by 2028. The company is also engaged in a Series B funding round of 30 million euros.

The company aims to connect over eight million devices across various sectors, including agriculture, logistics, and critical infrastructure, with a goal of achieving 1 billion euros in revenue by 2030.
