Vodafone new 3G prepaid plans for Mumbai, 5GB unlimited 3G Pack Now Cost Rs 898 with post FUP 64 kbps

Vodafone has just introduced a slew of 3G prepaid plans for its Mumbai customers and have revamped the entire lineup. It has launched a wide array of Unlimited, Regular, Small, Long Validity and Night Packs. Here’s a look at what Vodafone is offering:

Vodafone Unlimited 3G packs:

  • Rs 654 for 3GB of Unlimited data for Rs 28 days after which the speed will come down to 64 kbps
  • Rs 898 for 5GB of Unlimited data for Rs 28 days and the speed will come down to 64 kbps after exceeding your data limit

Regular packs:

  • 500MB of data for Rs 147 for 28 days and after this, you’ll be charged at the rate of 4p/10kb
  • 1GB of data for Rs 251 for 28 days and after this, you’ll be charged at the rate of 4p/10kb
  • 1.5GB of data for Rs 348 for 28 days and after this, you’ll be charged at the rate of 4p/10kb

Small Packs:

  • 50MB of data for a day for Rs 14 and you need to pay up 4p/10kb after this
  • 25MB of data for a day for Rs 26 and you need to pay up 4p/10kb after this (we really don’t understand this)
  • 150MB of data for 5 days for Rs 44 and you need to pay up 4p/10kb after this

Long Validity packs:

  • 3GB of data for 56 days for Rs 850 and a charge of 4p/10kb will be levied after that
  • 5GB of data for 56 days for Rs 1250 and a charge of 4p/10kb will be levied after that

Vodafone Night Packs: (Valid between 12AM and 6AM)

  • 500MB of data for 1 night for Rs 29 and you’ll be charged 4p/10kb post that
  • 1GB of data for 1 night for Rs 49 and you’ll be charged 4p/10kb post that

Before making any comment of the 3GB and 5GB Unlimited packs being offered by Vodafone, I would first like to hear from someone who has actually used these packs and let all know what is the actual speed they got on completion of their quota. Is it literally 64 Kbps (8 KB) or less or move. For the Operators to mention Reduced speeds at 64 Kbps is something they have tried and tested out and I’m very sure that the speed will be reasonably good for carrying out your normal work at a reduced pace. 64Kbps speed is nothing.. u will even not feel that u are connected to internet. BSNL is offering better plans in festival season. 155 – 1 GB data for 30 days 251 – 2 GB data for 30 days 561 – 5 GB data for 60 days 821 – 7 GB data for 90 days 1011 – 10GB data for 90 days 1949 – 20 GB data for 90 days Best plans by BSNL. TRAI is a govt backed organisation without any value adds. Have not seen any regulatory acts of their having any effect…( no regulatory acts made by them til now). Because of public hue and cry, TRAI wakes up inbetween to do some regulations, which are not implemented. India is a country where there is no telecom regulatory law. All telecom operators are fooling the public by misleading data speeds which says’ upto 14.7 MBps speed.
