UAE Telecom, du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has announced that it has commenced the deployment of multi-carrier aggregation technologies within its commercial wireless network. Du has announced that the implementation of this new technology will enable its network to deliver three times faster data speeds focused on fixed wireless home broadband services to its users in UAE.
du's FWA Network Enhancement
du, has stated the deployment of advanced multi-carrier aggregation technology in its commercial wireless network. This move is set to bring about a transformative shift in network speeds and user experience for its Home wireless services (Fixed Wireless Access - FWA).
Triple Carrier Integration
du's technology deployment involves the integration of three carriers, each with a bandwidth of 100 MHz, within the 3.5 GHz (C-Band) and 2.6 GHz bands. According to du, this aggregation promises to deliver data speeds three times faster than the existing offerings.
Futuristic Use Cases
In anticipation of increasing bandwidth demands driven by emerging technologies like AI, 8K video streaming, and UHD cloud gaming, du's multi-carrier aggregation initiative is aligned with its popular Home wireless services. In 2021, du launched its FWA services in the UAE, quickly becoming popular among users.
Du emphasized that multi-carrier aggregation is a proven method to boost wireless network throughputs and reflects the company's dedication to UAE's technological evolution.
First to Introduce Technology
du was the first operator in UAE to introduce 4G based Home Wireless service and was also the first telco to introduce 5G based Home Wireless services. Now, the company is set to deploy advanced 5G home wireless services with the deployment of 3CC technology, capable of supporting AI, metaverse experiences, XR gaming, and virtual meetings.
Exploration of Technology
Du stated that the deployment follows its earlier announcement in February 2023 about exploring 5G-Advanced technologies. The success of these explorations over the past six months culminated in the commercial deployment of innovative services for UAE users, said du.
As du ventures into this new era of wireless connectivity, users can anticipate a substantial improvement in their digital interactions.
With this leap in multi-carrier aggregation wireless technology, du sets the stage for an accelerated digital future, redefining how UAE connects and interacts.
