DataBank, a provider of enterprise-class edge colocation, interconnection, and managed services, has announced that it has agreed to sell its portfolio of five data centres in France to Etix Everywhere, an operator specializing in edge data centres in France and Belgium. This move allows DataBank to redirect its capital and resources towards its core US market while Etix Everywhere expands its presence in the region, according to the statement.

zColo France SAS

The data centres, operating under the name "zColo France SAS," are situated in key locations, including Paris, Toulouse, and Montpellier. DataBank originally acquired these facilities as part of the zColo transaction in 2020, and the sale represents a deliberate shift in focus for the company.

DataBank emphasized the decision: "This transaction allows DataBank to focus capital and resources on our core US market." With a remaining portfolio of over 65 data centres across more than 27 markets, DataBank retains its position as the leading-edge data centre provider in the United States, surpassing both public and private competitors in terms of facilities and market coverage.

Smooth Transition and Collaboration

The joint statement says, DataBank and Etix Everywhere have a proven record of acquiring and merging assets smoothly, resulting in a seamless experience for customers and operations. To facilitate this process, the companies have agreed to a 6-month Transition Service Agreement (TSA), during which they will collaborate closely.

The completion of the deal remains subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals, with the transaction expected to close by the end of the third quarter of 2023.

As DataBank focuses on strengthening its position in the US market, the sale of its French data centre assets to Etix Everywhere marks a strategic move.
