MTN Rwanda Launches Largest 4G LTE Network

Rwanda telecommunications service provider MTN Rwanda officially launched its 4G LTE network. This development marks a significant milestone in Rwanda's telecommunications industry, promising to revolutionize the country's digital landscape by providing faster, more affordable, and reliable connectivity to individuals, communities, and businesses nationwide, according to the official statement released on Sunday.

MTN Rwanda 4G LTE Network

With the receipt of its modified license, which enables liberalized access to 4G and future technologies, MTN Rwandacell (MTN Rwanda) upgraded its network to facilitate seamless 4G LTE connectivity.

MTN stated that the introduction of 4G technology is set to deliver many benefits, including improved connectivity and faster data speeds, thus paving the way for enhanced internet access.

Celebrating 25 Years

The launch of 4G LTE comes at a time when MTN Rwanda is Celebrating 25 years of operation in Rwanda, reflecting the telecom industry's journey in the country and how technologies like 4G and beyond ultimately benefit all Rwandans. The telecommunications company stated that it has been investing in expanding and modernizing its network since 1998.

Expanding Coverage and Speeds

MTN Rwanda stated that its 4G LTE network is available across 80 percent of its network sites, making it the largest and widest provider of 4G technology in Rwanda. Furthermore, the company said it is investing over RWF 26 billion to modernize its network infrastructure, ensuring customers enjoy best-in-class network connectivity and a seamless digital experience.

MTN Rwanda emphasized the significance of the 4G launch, emphasizing the extensive reach and enhanced customer experience the new network will deliver. With a core belief in providing a modern connected life to everyone, MTN Rwanda assures customers of a smooth and end-to-end experience with their products and services.

4G Data Packs

MTN customers can access 4G bundles at the same price as 3G bundles, making the transition seamless and affordable. MTN stated that its Service Centers and Connect shops are offering customers the opportunity to swap to a 4G SIM card at no additional cost, with the added benefit of Free WhatsApp usage for a week. Additionally, customers without 4G-enabled devices can easily purchase them at affordable daily, weekly, or monthly instalments.

The 4G LTE network is set to act as a catalyst for Rwanda's digital transformation, opening a world of possibilities for individuals, businesses, and communities.
