The announcement was made by Airtel Uganda's Managing Director during a press conference attended by key executives, including the Head of Data, Devices and Product Development, Networks Engineer and Public Relations Manager. Together, they highlighted the advantages of VoLTE and its positive impact on customer satisfaction.

VoLTE for Enhanced Voice Calling

The LinkedIn update also shared that prior to the introduction of VoLTE, users often experienced interruptions in their browsing sessions when receiving incoming voice calls. However, with VoLTE, Airtel has overcome this challenge by seamlessly carrying phone calls over the 4G internet.

Airtel says this eliminates the need to pause LTE services and ensures that customers can enjoy uninterrupted browsing while engaging in crystal-clear voice conversations. Also, these calls are billed at regular call rates, providing affordability and convenience to Airtel users.
