The HTC 10 (One M10) had been showing up on the rumor mill for a while. Thankfully, in the latest move, HTC made the speculations official. The company took to Twitter and announced that it will be unveiling the HTC 10 on April 12.

HTC 10 teaser

In its tweet, HTC has heavily teased the audio functionality of the upcoming smartphone. The tweet reads,“Here comes the new boom. You’ll hear it. #powerof10.” The company also posted a teaser image of the device that showcases the large strip of speaker grill (HTC's BoomSound speakers).

In accordance with the past rumours and leaks, we can list out the expected specifications of the upcoming flagship. The leaked images show a fully metal-bodied phone with a physical home button at the bottom, which is dubbed to come integrated with a fingerprint scanner.

Interestingly, the device also showed up on the AnTuTu benchmark (in the image below), which shows the HTC 10 beating other flagships such as the Xiaomi Mi 5, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, iPhone 6s and Huawei Mate 8. But, benchmarks cannot be trusted completely so we gotta wait until the device makes an official entry and gets through authentic reviews.

Leaked HTC 10 benchmark

The HTC One 10 might feature a 5.2-inch WQHD display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. It will most probably be running HTC Sense UI 8.0 on top of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow when it gets released. In terms of processing power, the HTC 10 is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor or a similar MediaTek chipset clubbed with 4GB of RAM. It is expected to come in 16GB/32GB/64GB expandable storage variants.

Lately, HTC also teased ‘World First and World Class’ camera capabilities on the HTC 10. The device is tipped to come equipped with a 12-UltraPixel primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), and laser auto focus. For front camera, the device is expected to feature an 8-megapixel lens. Both the cameras on the device (rear and selfie) are expected to come with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) functionality for rendering blur-less images. In terms of connectivity, the HTC 10 might support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Given the rumored specs, it would be interesting to see how HTC battles with the other flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, and Xiaomi Mi 5. Needless to say, the HTC 10 is a crucial device for the company, as it has been struggling to make substantial profits for sustainability.
