As expected, Samsung has made its latest flagships official in India. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge have been priced at Rs. 48,900 and Rs. 56,900 respectively for 32GB internal storage variants. Both the smartphones are up for pre-ordering on Samsung’s official website and Flipkart, starting from today, till March 17. The devices will go on normal sale from March 18.
Additionally, buyers who pre-order the device, will be given a Gear VR headset for free. The devices are also bundled with 6 months of double voice and data offer for Vodafone RED customers. Both the devices will be available in Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, and Silver Titanium color options.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge feature a 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screens respectively. Samsung has crafted both the smartphones with 3D glass and metal that give sturdiness and curves to the phones, which results in better grip and form factor. As seen on the LG G5, these two phones are also packed with “Always-On Display”. The new display mode is targeted at presenting users with an easy zero-touch experience that will ensure that notifications won’t go unnoticed.
In terms of hardware, the variants launched in India are powered by octa-core Exynos 8890 chipsets. Samsung asserts that the CPU and GPU performances on the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are greater than their predecessors Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. Both the smartphones support 4G LTE Cat 9 (up to 450 Mbps of download speeds) in terms of connectivity.
