Vodafone India Launches “My News” Value Added Services at Rs 5 per day

Vodafone India today announced the launch of My News Value Added Service for customers in Delhi-NCR region which will let subscribers read the daily newspaper on their mobile.

The Vodafone My News subscription service is available at Rs 5 per day or a weekly subscription of Rs 35. Depending on their individual needs and interests, pre paid and post paid customers can choose one newspaper from a choice of 30 regional or national newspapers. The subscription service can be activated by sending an SMS – MYNEWS – on 111.

“My News” is an auto renewal service and can be deactivated by sending an SMS — CAN MYNEWS — to 111. Vodafone ‘MyNews’ gives subscribers the freedom to read the newspaper as and when they want, without the hassle of carrying the hard copy with them.

It seems vodafone believes that the only way to get updated on news-front is thru mobile phones ! Those in Delhi will thus will be well-informed !

Did someone ask Mr. Subrat Padhi as to why would a customer pay Rs. 5/- to read a news paper on mobile when he could easily activate GPRS service by paying less than Rs. 5 /- and read as many news paper as s/he likes.
