Vodafone Facilitates e-KYC Solution for Customers to Link their Aadhaar and Mobile Number in Kolkata & Bengal

Vodafone India, the second largest telecom network in India has initiated the facility of linking of existing mobile number with Aadhaar at all retail touch points including Vodafone stores and 50,000 Multi Brand Outlets across Kolkata and Bengal circles. The service to link Aadhaar with existing number is available for all Vodafone customers in Bengal and Kolkata. More than 60 Lakh customers in Kolkata and West Bengal circles have already utilised this service by linking their SIM to their Aadhaar account.

Vodafone is one of the first telecom service providers in Kolkata and Bengal to offer this hassle free e-KYC activation for new customers and re-verification for existing customers. As a responsible Corporate, Vodafone India is also informing all existing customers to get their Aadhaar linked with their mobile number at the earliest.

Vodafone has initiated this service by the Government of India rules on mandatory re- verification of existing prepaid and postpaid customers using their Aadhaar identity number and biometric details. This will help Vodafone customers to enjoy constant mobile connectivity. The e-KYC technology is an instant, secure and green mobile subscriber verification process, where a customer’s Aadhaar and fingerprints are adequate for both validating and activating prepaid and post-paid connections.

Inviting all the residents of Kolkata and Bengal to avail Vodafone’s easy to access re-verification service, Arvinder Singh Sachdev, Business Head- Kolkata and Rest of Bengal, Vodafone India, said, “Vodafone is proud to be the preferred telecom services provider to over 25 million customers in the two circles. We follow a Customer First policy and our endeavour has always been to take the lead in making our customers lives simpler.” The linking of Aadhar service is free of cost.

“The service of linking SIM number with the customer’s Aadhaar is an important step in line with Vodafone’s commitment to a Digital India. For the benefit of our customers, we have made this facility available through all Vodafone stores and retail touch points in Kolkata and Bengal, through a short and easy process that our representatives will hand hold customers on. The advantages of getting the E-KYC process completed are manifold, and we urge all Vodafone customers to get their SIMs re-validated at the earliest,” added Arvind

Vodafone store charged me rs 25 for EKYC. they called it service charge. Hate u Vodafone

Outstation eKYC is still out of the question. Idk why the government or the TRAI is not enforcing one rule for all. What’s the difference between local AADHAAR and outstation aadhar. Everything has its database maintained by one branch of central government. In this age of technology, why do we have to go to our own state in order to get the eKYC done. So silly…
