Rogers and rSIM Team Up to Deliver IoT Connectivity Across Canada
Canada's telecommunications service provider Rogers is working with rSIM to provide high-resiliency connectivity solutions for IoT use cases. Using rSIM's neutral, operator-agnostic technology, Rogers aims to ensure that IoT devices benefit from scalable, reliable connectivity. Together, Rogers and rSIM are addressing the growing demand for uninterrupted, high-availability connectivity across industries in Canada, the companies said in a statement on January 7, 2025.

rSIM's Operator-Agnostic Technology

Built on GSMA standards, rSIM tests the data connection directly from the SIM and autonomously switches to a backup profile when connectivity is lost. Designed to be device-agnostic, rSIM integrates this resilience directly into the SIM itself, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity. This makes it particularly well-suited for IoT applications in industries where always-on connectivity is essential, the company explained.

Addressing Industry Demands

With Canada's IoT connections projected to reach 20 million by 2030 (according to GSMA Intelligence), and 83 percent of these requiring real-time, always-on connectivity by 2033 (according to Transforma Insights), Rogers and rSIM are addressing this challenge head-on, as noted in the official release.
