Micromax launches Canvas Evok with 5.5-inch display and 4G LTE, seems to lock horns with Vibe K5 Plus

Micromax has launched the new Canvas Evok range smartphone exclusively with Flipkart. The device is targeted at young working professionals. Priced at Rs. 8,499, the Micromax Canvas Evok features a 5.5-inch HD display with resolution of 1280x720 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.4 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 415 chipset coupled with a 3GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. It bears 16GB of internal storage, however, Micromax has not specified its memory expansion capability yet. The device supports connectivity options such as 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. In terms of camera, Canvas Evok boasts of 13-megapixel Autofocus rear camera with 5P Largan Lens for better performance in low light along with a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

The smartphone runs Android Lollipop 5.0 and is backed by a 3000mAh battery. The Canvas Evok will be up for sale in Black colour option. Given the pricing, the device will face tough competition from Lenovo's Vibe K5 Plus.
