Airtel has extended its mobile network services to the remote village of Phobrang, located near the border in the Indian Union Territory of Ladakh. Bharti Airtel today announced the launch of its network in Phobrang village on the Indo-China border. This village, situated at a high altitude and close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, had limited access to communication services due to its remote location and challenging terrain.

Rugged Terrain and Extreme Weather
Airtel said that despite the challenges of rugged terrain, extreme weather, and sensitive zones, its team successfully deployed the network, bringing connectivity to one of India's most isolated regions.
This network expansion by Airtel provides essential services to around 2,000 households in Phobrang, which is situated at an altitude of 15,000 feet above sea level and is home to India's highest herbal garden.

With this move, Airtel has ensured that both residents and visitors in this remote region have essential network access. Airtel noted that this effort underscores its role in fostering connectivity in challenging terrains.
