XL Axiata Drives 4G Network Expansion in East Nusa Tenggara

XL Axiata Drives 4G Network Expansion in East Nusa Tenggara
Indonesian mobile telecommunications services provider, XL Axiata (PT XL Axiata Tbk), is expanding its 4G network coverage to areas that were previously underserved, in line with the government's goal of accelerating national development through digital infrastructure. On Tuesday, XL Axiata announced the expansion of its 4G LTE Network footprint to include Alor Island, situated in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Expansion of 4G Network to Alor Island

XL Axiata has stated that in the past year, specifically in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), it has been intensively building a 4G network. The company has announced that it added more than 120 4G BTS to remote rural areas and small islands that were previously unreachable. Alor Island is one of these previously inaccessible islands that are now connected.

Currently, XL Axiata 4G Network in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is served by over 850 4G BTS units in around 188 sub-districts across 22 cities/regencies, constituting 60 percent of the population, now benefit from the 4G network coverage.

XL Axiata e-SIM Service

In another development, XL Axiata said it launched an electronic SIM card or e-SIM service a few months ago. With e-SIM, customers can skip physical SIM card purchases at stores, enjoying a swift and hassle-free process. Last week, the company announced that all XL Centers across Sumatra facilitate seamless transitioning from physical cards to e-SIM for customers' convenience.

New Medan XL Center

XL Axiata has also announced the opening of a new XL Center in Medan. The company stated, "Considering the high demand for customers and to facilitate customers in Medan and North Sumatra, XL Axiata has inaugurated a second XL Center at Plaza Medan Fair."

XL Axiata stated that now there are a total of 17 XL Centers spread across Sumatra, including Banda Aceh, Medan, Pematang Siantar, Batam, Bintan, Pekanbaru, Dumai, Padang, Bukittinggi, Jambi, Bengkulu, Palembang, Pangkalpinang, Tanjung Pandan, and Bandar Lampung.
