There's a lot happening every day in the tech fraternity, and today is no different. A couple of smartphone launches, a big merger from leading Indian telcos, and some new changes to the tariff plans. Here's everything that made some sound in the tech industry today.

1) Bharti Airtel and Tata Merger

Probably the biggest news of the day. Out of nowhere, Airtel has announced a merger with Tata Consumer Mobile Businesses (CMB). Under this merger, Tata's entire subscriber base will function under Airtel after the merger.

2) Huawei Honor 7X Launched in China

Huawei has announced its latest mid-range smartphone, the Honor 7X in the Chinese market today. The smartphone offers an 18:9 aspect ratio display, Kirin 659 chipset, 4GB of RAM, up to 128GB of internal storage, dual rear camera, and a single 8MP front-facing camera. The device will be launched in India in Early 2018.

3) Bharti Airtel Upgrades Postpaid Data Offering

Earlier today, we exclusively reported that Bharti Airtel has upgraded its postpaid data offering with more than 500% data hike in every plan. The Rs. 2,999 plan from Airtel offers 200GB data per month.

4) RCom Announces an All-New Rs. 349 Plan

After witnessing telecom operators launch new tariff plans, RCom has come up with a Rs. 349 plan that offers 1GB data per day and unlimited voice calls for 28 days.

5) Nubia Announces Z17S and Z17miniS

ZTE' sub-brand Nubia has announced two new smartphones in the Chinese market. These two smartphones cater to flagship and mid-range segment The Nubia Z17S is a flagship smartphone, and the Z17miniS is a mid-range device.

6) Vodafone and itel Moblie Deal Extension to Bihar and Jharkhand

Back in August, Vodafone partnered with itel Mobiles to offer 100% cashback on select itel feature phones. Back then, the offer was limited to just some circles, and now, it has extended to Bihar and Jharkhand as well.
