Airtel withdraws Rs. 20 talktime referral offer of My Airtel app

Bharti Airtel seems to have silently withdrawn the “Rs. 20 talktime referral offer” that came with its self-care app ‘My Airtel’. Initially, the prepaid Airtel users had the privilege to refer three friends in a month to use My Airtel app and get Rs. 60 as talktime (Rs. 20 per referral).

Although there were several conditions such as the referee should have never installed My Airtel app before, new install should be on new device, etc., the offer benefitted people to get genuine talktime credited to their main accounts. The offer was originally launched as a means to promote My Airtel app.

From last week, it was found that the company has withdrawn this Rs. 20 talktime offer and instead, is offering only 200MB of 2G night data on successful referrals. However, My Airtel app still shows the old offer stating 'free talktime on My Airtel referrals'. Telecom Talk cross-checked the offer with numbers of Kolkata, RoWB & Kerala circles and found that the offer no longer exists.

Among the apps of other service providers, Airtel's My Airtel app is the most downloaded app on both Android and iOS platforms.
