After Reliance and BSNL slashed the 3G tariff to a new level, beginning a new tariff war ( though on data front) the biggies can not sit idle. Airtel has already offered limited period 3G data plan – 1GB for Rs 124, as a one time recharge for a mobile number.
This time Vodafone reacted the same way, but they are targeting few handful of customers across Vodafone’s nine 3G circles. Similar to Airtel, the offer is one time only – get 1GB data at high speed for Rs 126.

What I feel, Vodafone and Airtel are checking out customers’ reaction and their acceptability on such 3G at 2G price. Unified data plans are the future, and the new 3G plans from Reliance and BSNL are in the right direction.
