UScellular and Ericsson have joined forces to revolutionize private wireless network solutions, catering to a diverse range of industry segments. Ericsson said this collaboration seeks to transform the landscape of connectivity services, with an initial focus on Industry 4.0 manufacturing, logistics, distribution, and warehouse use cases.

According to the joint statement, the partnership's vision extends even further, encompassing critical sectors such as healthcare, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), ports, utilities, and airports.

Strategic Direction

"UScellular is growing its private network capabilities and solutions for our enterprise customers." According to UScellular, "Ericsson's Private 5G solution and UScellular's strong coverage in markets that have established manufacturing, distribution centres and warehousing, and providing the experience of operating LTE and 5G networks offer a great combination and value proposition."

Expanding Horizons

This announcement is an extension of the partnership between two companies that was formed earlier this year. As part of the same, Ericsson's Private 5G network has been installed at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's (UWM) Connected Systems Institute (CSI) manufacturing research facility, ensuring secure and uninterrupted connectivity for seamless integration with business operations, devices, and applications.
