In a rather interesting turn of events, Starlink has removed the India pricing for its connections for residential users from the website. The price was visible until now, however, it has been removed as it wasn't the official pricing. Starlink executive took to social media to address this and said that the updated pricing was just a glitch, and the company is not yet providing services in the country. On Monday, it was visible that a Starlink connection with a monthly plan would cost Rs 8,600 per month. Now this price has been removed from the website.

Lauren Dreyer, vice president (Starlink Business Operations), said on X, "The Starlink India website is not live, service pricing for customers in India has not yet been announced, and we are not taking orders from customers in India. There was a config glitch that briefly made dummy test data visible, but those numbers do not reflect what the cost of Starlink service will be in India."

"The glitch was quickly fixed. We're eager to connect the people of India with Starlink's high-speed internet, and our teams are focused on obtaining final government approvals to turn service (and the website) on," she added further.

The satcom (satellite communication) companies are waiting for the government to allocate them with spectrum. All the trials for Jio-SES and Eutelsat OneWeb are done, and now it is time for the companies to switch on services. This should happen in 2026 most likely.
