Oppo first announced its camera-centric F1 series in January by debuting Oppo F1. The Chinese smartphone maker then made a promise to roll out a higher version of the phone, F1 Plus in April. The manufacturer seems to have kept its promise, that it has launched Oppo F1 Plus today at an event in New Delhi.

Priced at Rs.26, 990, the F1 Plus houses a 5.5-inch AMOLED Gorilla-glass display in an ultra-thin all-metal unibody. The device comes powered by MediaTek Helio P10 2.0GHz 64-bit Octa-core processor coupled by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with ColorOS 3.0 on top.

The Oppo F1 Plus also comes integrated with fingerprint sensor that is claimed to unlock the device in 0.2 seconds. Also, the device boasts OPPO’s patented VOOC flash charge technology. The VOOC Flash Charge technology enables users to charge for five minutes and talk for two hours. The phone adheres to the standard smartphone charging voltage of 5V and VOOC keeps the temperature low during charging, solving the most seen heating issue in smartphones. The device is backed by a 2,850mAh lithium polymer battery.

Commenting on the launch of F1 Plus, Mr. Sky Li, OPPO Global VP, MD of International Mobile Business and President of OPPO India said, “Today, we are very excited to launch the second device of our photography-focused F series in India after our Selfie Expert F1, which created great market acceptance with demands pouring in from every corner of the country. Camera Phones are always our focus and we plan to bring out the best camera experiences to our consumers.”

At the launch event, the company announced Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh as its First Sports Ambassador for this cricket season. Being launched as an advanced selfie-expert phone, Oppo F1 Plus comes with a 16MP selfie-snapper with features such as Selfie Panorama, Beautify 4.0, the front-facing Screen Flash, and Hi-Light Camera. On the rear side, a 13MP camera adorns the phone. In terms of connectivity, the device supports Hybrid dual-SIM, 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.
