Well, just when we thought that we couldn't get more of 'LYF' smartphones, here comes another. We just spotted LYF True 4G smartphone listed on the HomeShop 18 website at Rs. 3,999. Going by the pricing, it turns out to be the cheapest among the LYF series of smartphones. Until now, the cheapest smartphone under LYF series was the Flame 2 smartphone, priced at Rs. 4,700.
The LYF True 4G is not up for direct purchase yet. But there is a pre-order option for the device, on the listing page. The reason why the device is listed on HomeShop 18 is because it is backed by Network 18, which is now owned by Reliance.
Coming on to the specifications, the device features a 4-inch WVGA display (480 x 800 pixels). It comes powered by an unspecified 1.5GHz quad-core chipset clubbed with 512MB of RAM. The smartphone bears 4GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash, along with a 2MP front-facing camera.
In the connectivity department, the LYF True 4G smartphone supports dual-SIM, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. It is backed by a removable 1700 mAh battery with up to 5 hours of talk time. The listing looks pretty authentic but under the specs sheet, model name has been specified as "Flame". We gotta wait until Reliance makes the device official.
