Idea roaming STVs offers free incoming during national roaming and out going calls will be charged at 80p/min for local and Rs 1.15/min for STD. Validity of roaming STV 16 is increased from existing 3 days to 10 days. Similarly validity for STV 71 is increased almost three times to 90 days from existing 30 days. However, validity of STV 306 which comes with full talktime and free roaming was reduced to slightly to 28 days from existing 30 days.

This is a welcome move from Idea as its roaming packs were more expensive compared to other operators. With the revision cost of free roaming STV has significantly reduced from Rs 71 per month to just Rs 26. Recently Airtel had also launched a 28 days roaming pack for Rs 27. Private operators are under pressure as state-run BSNL has been offering free roaming on its network for the past one year and has extended it further for one year on pan India basis.
