Airtel Digital TV customers who recharge their DTH account via My Airtel app will get an 8% cashback, announces the company. This is a significant increase from the earlier cashback offered, which was ranging from 3-5% cashback on maximum recharges. The customers who wish to recharge via My Airtel app has to first register their Airtel digital TV ID on the app. The payment can be done via Airtel Money or Paytm within the app.
As noted recently, third party recharge platforms/wallets such as Paytm and Mobikwik has ceased the cashback offers given on Airtel mobile and DTH recharges. Although the reasons are unknown, reports say that Airtel has stopped offering commissions to such third party recharge platforms in order to focus on the promotions of their own Airtel Money platform.
As of the recharges of the DTH are concerned, the customers need to recharge from the special menu of the app with denominations Rs. 210 , Rs. 320 , Rs. 375 , Rs. 560 , and Rs. 710 to gain up to Rs. 40 cashback. According to Airtel, the cashback is guaranteed after 48 hours of every successful recharge.
In terms of subscribers, Airtel Digital TV ranks among top three DTH service providers across the country. It has added more than 10 lakhs of customers during digitalization process of cable TV. Recently, it partnered with entertainment content house Shemaroo Entertainment to launch a collection of classic Bollywood movies and music 'SadabaharHitz'. The ad-free service is available on Airtel Digital TV for Rs. 39 per month.
Airtel also offers lots of HD channels and free memory stick with new HD DTH connections.
