Idea Cellular, the third-largest telecom operator in India, has launched new 2G night data pack for its prepaid customers in the Mumbai circle. The new 2G night data pack priced at Rs 96, offers 1GB 2G internet at night from 12am to 6am and comes with a validity of 28 days.

Compared to existing 1GB 2G data pack priced at Rs 175, the new night pack is cheaper and more affordable for night surfers. However, the night benefit can be only available for 6 hours a day during 12am to 6am.

While the operator is busy expanding its 4G and 3G network across the country, the new 2G data offer shows Idea Cellular is still serious about serving its 2G subscriber base.

Idea currently has 4G LTE network available in over 300 towns and aims to exit FY16 with its 4G LTE services covering over 550 towns across 10 circles, and plans to extend the 4G footprint to over 750 towns by June 2016.
