BSNL Upgraded GSM SIM embedded SMS based Utility Services

With a view to provide customer friendly utility services to its 2G and 3G mobile customers, state owned telecom giant Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), has launched upgraded version of SIM embedded SMS based new services.

The New STK (SIM Tool Kit) for its GSM mobile customers is menu based services are available through SMS. The utility services are embedded in SIM and are easier to use as they are pre-configured. The BSNL customers need not dial any short code for accessing any particular service from their mobile phone.

According to BSNL, STK based Value Added Services are being provided by BSNL in collaboration with leading VAS Content developer Spice Digital in all circles of North & West zones and ACL Wireless in all circles of South & East zones.

Giving details of the new services to TelecomTALK, Anupam Shrivastava, Director (Consumer Mobility) BSNL  said, “BSNL mobiles customers, through Cellone Menu, can get various information like News, Finance, Rail /Air Reservation status, Cricket scores etc. STK based applications are facilitated by Wireless Internet Browser (VVIB) and are really customer friendly to use.”

I have on clue about bsnl in south but in north it totally sucks. North is a avoid dominated area and up east is the only circle in north where bsnl has considerable customer base but if you see the active users, less than 42% are only active where as vodafone in the same circle has 99.60% active users.

Its not true that BSNL is the best in south. Here in Kerala the coverage is excellent in 2G and 3G is under rapid expansion, but quality is very bad. 2G internet is non existent, Max 3G speed I get is 25 KBps( Bytes) during night and 40 Kbps rest of the day. Some towers doesnt work at all and complaints doesnt do anything . call quality is not great either.

BSNL is the best service in South India. If you say BSNL sucks, then I would say that you no nothing about Private operators, who are all the super suckers.

May be at your place Bsnl provides good service but at my place in Goa it sucks. No good customer support and call dross too. Here in Goa Airtel and Vodafone provide good service but if you see in south , or in north or east India picture would be different. So my friend please note that if Bsnl is good at your place then it is not necessary that it will be good at every place. Here all Bsnl workers are insane and they don’t care for their customers.
