As promised at the start of this month, Bharti Airtel, India's largest telecom network began offering free data for all its postpaid users as a token of gratitude for being rated as the fastest mobile by speed test organization, Ookla. To recall, Gopal Vittal, CEO of Bharti Airtel on March 3 sent out an email to all the postpaid users of Airtel saying that a surprise in coming their way on March 13.

The company today pushed out free data for all the postpaid users. Customers can avail the free data by heading over the MyAirtel app and clicking on the banner 'claim free data'. That said, here's the catch. Not every user will get the same amount of data. As far as we know, a user will be entitled with 1GB of data per month for three months, making it 3GB for three months and a maximum of 30GB for three months, which dubs to 10GB per month. However, these are just our assumptions, and we don't have any official information on the minimum and maximum data allocated to a particular user.

For example, when I clicked the banner, I received only 2GB of data per month and 6GB in total for three months. Whereas, @srikapardhi received 10GB of data per month, making it 30GB for three months.

So, it entirely depends on your luck, but one thing is for sure: All the postpaid customers will get free data benefits for three months. The free data will be credited to your postpaid account within few minutes from the time of claiming.

In recent times, Bharti Airtel has been concentrating heavily on introducing new offers for prepaid users, and this free data offer will cheer up the postpaid subscribers. Airtel recently launched a new plan of Rs. 345 for its prepaid customers to tackle Reliance JioPrime membership program.

With the all new Rs. 345 plan (price varies with the circle), the telecom operator is offering free local, and STD voice calls along with 1GB of 4G data every day for 28 days. However, the 1GB of 4G data can be used as 500MB data on daytime and the remaining 500MB as night data, which turned out to be a major disappointment for masses.

Are you an Airtel postpaid customer? If yes, do let us know what amount of data have you received from the Airtel's Surprise offer in the comments space below.
