Airtel said its 5G network coverage reaches 140,000 villages, while its 4G network coverage extends to 800,000 villages across India. The company covers all 7,900 towns in India with both 5G and 4G technologies, according to a company presentation for investors made on September 17. Airtel's network and infrastructure serve around 352 million mobile customers, over 30 million homes, and more than 3,500 enterprises.

Airtel Spectrum Footprint
Airtel noted that it has a pan-India spectrum footprint with a 29 percent spectrum share and the largest portfolio of mid-band spectrum. The company has rights to use spectrum across low band, mid-band, 3.5 GHz band, and mmWave band, using which Airtel covers around 800,000 villages and towns in India.

5G Non-Standalone Technology
The company also highlighted that it had made a proven bet with 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) technology, which has benefited Airtel with 30 percent higher coverage, better experience, lower capex, and a lower carbon footprint. ARPU Targets and Service Expansion
Considering the ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) in INR, with Rs 209 in Q4 FY 24, the company is targeting an immediate ARPU goal of Rs 300.

Airtel also highlighted accelerating home connections with home passes and ensuring ubiquitous coverage via its 5G-based FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) service. Airtel offers fibre and 5G FWA services under its Airtel Home Wi-Fi offering.
