Airtel Rolls out 4G services in Dehradun, Haridwar, Roorkee , Rishikesh, Rudrapur and Haldwani

Airtel today launched its 4G services in Uttarakhand starting with Dehradun, Haridwar, Roorkee, Rishikesh, Rudrapur and Haldwani and will soon be extended to 20 plus more towns as well.


With the launch, customers across these towns can now enjoy high speed mobile broadband on Airtel 4G to enjoy uninterrupted HD video streaming, superfast uploading and downloading of movies, music and images. Airtel 4G is available to customers across a range of smart devices including mobile phones, dongles and 4G hotspots.

Special demo zones and kiosks have been installed at all the Own and Franchisee Airtel retail stores in these places respectively where customers can also switch their existing 2G/3G SIMs with 4G ready USIMs completely free of cost.

To ensure higher network capacity and superior customer experience, Airtel 4G services in Uttarakhand have been rolled out using spectrum band of 1800 MHz (FD LTE).

Commenting on the launch, Avneet Singh Puri, COO – UP West & Uttarakhand, Bharti Airtel said, “We are delighted to launch Airtel 4G services in Uttarakhand. Whether stuck in office, or on the move –our valued customers can now enjoy high speed internet on Airtel 4G network anywhere, without having to pay anything additional. Customers can now also look forward to choosing from a host of affordable data and tariff plans that offer great value.”

Airtel also announced a new 4G offer for prepaid customers who can now enjoy 10 GB 4G data for just Rs 249 in UPW with any new 4G handset. With these recharges, 1 GB data will be instantly credited to the customer’s account and the additional 9 GB data can be claimed by the customer through MyAirtel app. Users can avail a maximum of 3 recharges within 90 days, on the offer.

Airtel recently launched a new version of its MyAirtel App – the one app for all apps. The refreshed MyAirtel App will offer the best of music, movies games, LIVE TV, e-books, chats and much more in one place. Users can also enjoy free 2GB cloud backup with the new Airtel Cloud app and free calling with Airtel Dialer.

Although I like Airtel services, I too want competition to increase, ultimately benefiting the subscribers.
But I admit that the current offers by Airtel are nothing more than eyewash.
