bsnl upgrades speed benefits for entry level

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has upgraded the broadband speed benefits for entry-level plans. This has been done silently and happened quite a long back. BSNL offered very minimal speeds and a limited amount of data with its entry-level broadband plans. Now, while the speed has gone up, the data limit is still the same. The plans for which the speed has gone up come for Rs 249, Rs 299, and Rs 329. These are all entry-level broadband plans and they are meant for low-budget consumers. Let's take a look at what is different now.

BSNL's Entry-Level Broadband Plans Get Speed Upgrades

BSNL's broadband plans start at Rs 249 per month. There are also plans for Rs 299 and Rs 329. All three plans have seen speed upgrades. The Rs 249 plan used to come with 10 Mbps, but now it offers 25 Mbps. The same is the case with the Rs 299 plan. With this plan, users got 10 Mbps speed, but now they get 25 Mbps. Lastly, with the Rs 329 plan, users got 20 Mbps speed, but the speed has now been increased to 25 Mbps.

The Rs 249 plan comes with 10GB of FUP (fair usage policy) data, 20GB with the Rs 299 plan, and 1000GB with the Rs 329 plan. The speed is reduced to 2 Mbps post the FUP limit, and 4 Mbps beyond 1000GB. The Rs 249 and Rs 299 plans are only available for new users and that too for new customers.

These are great entry-level plans. The only issue is as the speed has increased, the data remaining the same can be an issue with the Rs 249 and Rs 299 plan. 10GB and 20GB of data is not much with respect to 25 Mbps of speed.
