Core Network Consolidation Project

The project enhances network performance nationwide, with notable improvements for users in rural and remote areas. For example, residents of Kalimantan now experience a 15 percent increase in average downlink speed and an 11 percent reduction in round-trip time (RTT) for Facebook usage. Additionally, customers in Central Java are experiencing better internet performance for gaming and live video streaming, the official release said.

Desmond Cheung, Director and Chief Technology Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, expressed, "The core network consolidation project is a testament to our commitment to delivering a world-class digital experience to our customers. With the completion of this initiative, we believe we can consistently provide a remarkable experience to our customers while paving the way towards our mission of connecting and empowering every Indonesian."

The project utilised telco cloud-native technology, including a dual-engine container solution that supports both virtual machines (VMs) and containers on a unified platform. This enables rapid service deployment and positions the network for future 5G enhancements.
