Singtel Partners Bridge Alliance to offer GPU-as-a-Service in Southeast Asia
Singtel and Bridge Alliance, a mobile alliance of 34 operators worldwide, announced a strategic partnership that will bring Singtel's GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) offerings to enterprises across the region. Southeast Asian telcos AIS, Maxis, and Telkomsel are among the alliance's early adopters, addressing the growing demand for AI computing in Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, respectively, Singtel said in a statement on Monday.

GPU-as-a-Service

According to Singtel, this tie-up follows its announcement in February about the launch of its GPUaaS later this year, which will provide enterprises with access to Nvidia's AI computing power, enabling them to deploy AI at scale quickly and cost-effectively.

Impact on Southeast Asian Economies

The GPUaaS offering will facilitate rapid and cost-effective AI deployment, potentially adding up to USD 1 trillion to the Southeast Asian economy by 2030. As part of the agreement, additional GPU clusters will be established in Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia to meet increasing demand. Bridge Alliance will assist its member operators (BMOs) in accelerating market entry and optimising the GPUaaS rollout, the joint statement said.

"Our collaboration with Bridge Alliance and telcos in the region will help democratise and accelerate the use of AI by enterprises across all industries, providing them with the tools to achieve greater productivity and business value with our next-generation digital infrastructure and solutions," Singtel said.

Bridge Alliance added, "We're delighted to bring the benefits of GPUaaS and AI computing to enterprise customers in the markets where our BMOs operate."

"AIS strongly believes that the GPUaaS by Singtel and Bridge Alliance, combined with AIS's capabilities, will co-create sustainable digital economy value for businesses in Thailand," said AIS.

Maxis said, "We look forward to being the first telco to bring GPUaaS to businesses here in Malaysia. This offering will provide a cost-efficient way for businesses to access high-performance computing and data processing capabilities."

Telkomsel said, "This collaboration enables Indonesian enterprises to accelerate their AI adoption with ease, leveraging cutting-edge infrastructure that ensures both scalability and cost efficiency."

Service Expansion and Future Plans

The service will launch with Nvidia H100 Tensor Core GPUs and next-generation GB200 AI Servers. It will be expanded to new AI-ready data centers managed by Nxera, Singtel's regional data center business, starting in mid-2025, the official release said.
