Network Transition and Spectrum Reutilization

Digi has announced the complete reutilization of the 2100 MHz spectrum (2×15 MHz) for its 4G and 4G+ networks, with the exception of the metro network where a portion of the spectrum is reserved for the classic voice service catering to terminals without 4G capabilities.

Digi highlighted that users of its mobile data services will enjoy an enhanced connectivity experience through the utilization of the 800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2600 MHz FDD, 2600 MHz TDD, and 3500 MHz TDD bands. This includes the implementation of carrier aggregation (CA) based on network areas and terminal capabilities, in both 4G and 5G technologies.

Digi Romania stated: “The transition from the 3G network marks a major stage in the evolution of the Digi network, the new 4G and 5G technologies being thus brought to the fore to ensure high-performance services, coverage and connectivity at the most advanced standards”
