Apple unveiled a plethora of products across categories. Of these, the iPad mini 2021 took over the spotlight as it was a major upgrade as compared to its predecessor. The new iPad mini 2021 gets the power from the new Apple A15 Bionic chip, which makes it an upgraded variant to the iPad mini 2020. So, here are the differences between the iPad mini 2021 and iPad mini 2020.
iPad mini 2021 vs iPad mini 2020: All Differences
The most appealing aspect of the iPad mini 2021 is the new improved display. The upgraded iPad mini gets an All-Screen design, shrunk bezels at the top and bottom, which leads to a larger 8.3-inch display without increasing its overall footprint. The bezels are symmetric on all sides and there is a Liquid Retina Display. Also, it has the Touch ID embedded at the button on the top.
In terms of performance, the iPad mini 2021 is a major leap as it comes with an A15 Bionic chipset. It brings in 5G connectivity and there is a new Neural Engine for 2x improvements as compared to the A12 Bionic used on the iPad mini 2020. Besides this, the A15 Bionic is touted to deliver 80% improved graphics performance.
The new iPad mini 2021 gets a camera that is almost on par with that of the iPhone. There is a 12MP front camera with Centre Stage support. Also, the rear camera is an upgraded 12MP sensor with Focus Pixels. As per Apple, the rear camera has a wider aperture but the exact aperture is not known for now. In comparison, the yesteryear model features an 8MP camera sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
