Xiaomi is all set to introduce a new Mi TV in India on September 17. The Chinese company has started sending media invites for an ecosystem event to be held on September 17. Also, the official Mi India Twitter handle has posted an image of the invite, which says 'Smarter Living 2020,' highlighting the company may even introduce other smart home products in the country. Exactly a year ago in September 2018, Xiaomi held a similar ecosystem products launch in India where it unveiled three Mi TVs and the Xiaomi Mi Band 3. At the upcoming event on September 17, we're expecting the Chinese company to launch the Mi Band 4 in India as the product has been launched in China more than a month ago. It will be interesting to see what other smart home products Xiaomi will bring to India besides the new Mi TV.
New Xiaomi Mi TV Launching in India on September 17
As you can see, the invite clearly has a television, hinting at the launch of a new Mi TV model in the country. At the Redmi Note 8 series launch in China last month, Redmi unveiled its first-ever Smart TV, called Redmi TV with a massive 70-inch screen. Soon after the launch, Redmi officially confirmed the 70-inch Redmi TV would reach the Indian market, but the officials confirmed that it might take some time for the company, considering regulatory approvals. So, we're not expecting the 70-inch Redmi TV to make its debut in India at the September 17 event, instead, it could be an upgrade to the company's 55-inch Mi TVs.
Xiaomi India Managing Director, Manu Kumar Jain, in a separate tweet, confirmed that the company would be launching multiple smart home devices. "#SmarterLiving 2020: Get ready for the biggest smart-home devices launch in India! These intelligent devices will make your homes smarter," Manu tweeted. Right now, we don't have any info regarding the new smart home devices Xiaomi will be launching on September 17.
We may see the company launching products like Mi Vaccum Cleaner, Mi Electric Rice Cooker, among other devices. One of the most requested smart home products from the users is Mi Vaccum Cleaner which the company may launch in the country on September 17.
Xiaomi Mi Band 4 India Debut Likely on September 17
Back in September 2018, Xiaomi Mi Band 3 was launched in India for Rs 1,999. Since then, the company did not launch a wearable product in the sub-continent. So there are high chances the Mi Band 4 will make its debut at the September 17 smart home event in India. For the unaware, the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is already available for purchase in China for more than 45 days, and the fans of Xiaomi are already questioning the company regarding the delay in bringing it to India.
The Mi Band 4 is the first product in the Mi Band lineup to sport a colour display and it also has a bigger battery to offer better battery life compared to the Mi Band 3. It will be interesting to see how Xiaomi prices the Mi Band 4 in India considering it has some major upgrades over the Mi Band 3 that was launched for Rs 1,999.
