The latest smartphones from the house of Motorola, the Moto E5 and the Moto E5 Plus also picked up Vodafone VoLTE support in India. Earlier, the Moto G6 and G6 Play smartphones received VoLTE support on Vodafone network, and now, it's the turn of newly launched handsets. On the whole, Vodafone's VoLTE support has been added to four recently launched smartphones- the Moto G6, G6 Play, Moto E5 and the Moto E5 Plus. However, there's still no luck for the earlier launched devices such as the Moto G5, G5 Plus, Moto Z2 Force, Moto X4 and so on.
Notably, the support has been rolled out to the Motorola devices launched after Q1 2018. The Moto Z2 Force has been launched in India earlier this year, but it's yet to receive Vodafone VoLTE support though. The Moto G6 and G6 Play were launched in June 2018, followed by the Moto E5 and E5 Plus' launch last month.
It's disappointing to see a company like Motorola delaying the VoLTE support rollout to its smartphones. Having said that, another major brand, Google is also yet to add VoLTE patch of Indian telecom operators to its Pixel lineup of devices. That being said, the four above-mentioned Motorola devices support VoLTE of Vodafone and Reliance Jio in India. Motorola is yet to add the software patch of Airtel and Idea Cellular VoLTE, which is expected to happen in the next couple of months.
Launched last month, the Moto E5 Plus sports a beefy 5000mAh battery and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset. However, the device is priced on the steeper side at Rs 11,999. The Moto E5 is armed with a 4000mAh battery and can be purchased at Rs 9,999 in the country.
Coming to Vodafone VoLTE, the country' second largest telecom service provider has its VoLTE network spread across 13 telecom circles- Chennai, Delhi & NCR, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Maharashtra & Goa, Mumbai, Punjab, Rajasthan, UP (E) and UP (W).
