Idea Cellular has started offering 1.4GB data per day with its Rs 398 prepaid plan, countering Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio. The telco has silently revised the Rs 398 prepaid plan for select users, under which it's offering 1.4GB data per day, unlimited voice and 100 SMS per day for a period of 84 days. Earlier, the same plan used to provide 1GB data per day, but it's now increased by a bit to match Jio's tariff plans. Also, the validity of the plan used to be 70 days earlier, which is now increased to 84 days, yet again to match the Jio's Rs 399 plan.
Just a couple of days ago, we reported about Airtel's Rs 399 plan which is now offering 1.4GB data per day, up from the 1GB data per day benefit. It also offers unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for the validity period. Airtel's plan is valid for 84 days for some users and 70 days for some users, but the data benefit is increased to 1.4GB for all the users. Airtel is offering the Rs 399 for all the users, but the validity differs between the users. For frequent users, the validity will be 70 days, and for non-frequent users, it will be 84 days.
Reliance Jio, with its Rs 399 prepaid plan is providing slightly better data benefit of 1.5GB 4G data per day, along with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 84 days. The data benefit is slightly better on Jio's network.
Also, the Idea Rs 398 recharge plan limits the voice calls to 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week, which again is a thing worth considering because Airtel and Reliance Jio are providing unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit. Idea Cellular also introduced a Rs 249 prepaid plan for select users with 2GB data per day benefit on offer. Idea is trying to match Reliance Jio and Airtel in the tariff plans department. Idea prepaid users can head over to My Idea app or website to check the Rs 398 plan availability on their mobile number.
