Vodafone India has two new plans on offer. The UK-based company has started offering Rs. 458 and Rs. 509 tariff plans and both the plans cater to Vodafone's combo plans department. These plans are valid only for select circles. For now, we have learnt that these plans are valid in Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh circles.

Both the Rs. 458 and Rs. 509 plans offer 1GB 4G/3G data per day, 100 SMS per day, and unlimited local & STD calls even while roaming within India. However, the voice calls are capped at 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week. Furthermore, Vodafone is also offering a free subscription to Vodafone Play for all the customers recharging this plan.

Customers after recharging with the above-mentioned plans have to send an SMS as Play to 199. After sending the SMS, Vodafone Play subscription will be activated on the number. The Rs. 458 plan is valid for 70 days, whereas the Rs. 509 plan benefits will be applicable for 84 days from the date of recharge.

Sadly, these two plans are limited only to the said circles, and Vodafone is yet to state the availability of the plans for other circles. Also, they are valid only for Vodafone 3G/4G subscribers and not Vodafone 2G subscribers. That said, both the plans are open market plans in both the circles and they're valid for both existing and new Vodafone customers.

Vodafone has come up with these plans especially to counter Reliance Jio and its Rs. 399, Rs. 459 plans. However, Vodafone plans are slightly priced above. The Rs. 399 and Rs. 459 Jio plans offer similar benefits of unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and 1GB data per day for 70 days and 84 days respectively. Airtel also launched a similar plan of Rs. 448 which gives 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls even on national roaming, and 100 SMS per day for 70 days.
